High Purity Ammonia Decomposition Hydrogen Production Plant

 

 

The Hydrogen production plant with purifying system offers a variety of benefits.

 

The system is low cost with long service life, simple operation, compact structure, small coverage and simple installation.

 

The system vaporizes liquid ammonia, and heats it with a catalyst until decomposition occurs, creating a mixture of gas consisting of 75% hydrogen and 25% nitrogen.

 

Based on the principle that the molecular sieve adsorbs ammonia and water at different temperatures, high purity gas is produced by heat regenerating through the mixture working at normal temperature.

Using liquid ammonia as the feed material, this plant gasifies and decomposes the liquid ammonia. With 1KG liquid ammonia, it could put out about 2.64 Nm³ mixed gas consisting of 75% hydrogen and 25% nitrogen. The mixed gas contains small quantity impurities(moisture ab.2g/ m³, ammonia remains ab.1000ppm). After being purified through 5A molecular sieve (American UOP) adsorption, the dew point of the product hydrogen could be decreased to -60C°and the ammonia remains inside could be reduced to below 3ppm.

 

 

 

Principle

 

1)Under the normal temperature, with the function of the catalyst, the gaseous ammonia is decomposed into hydrogen(75%) and nitrogen(25%) and adsorbs 21.9Kcal heat.

 

2).As the whole process is the expansion reaction by adsorbing heat, increasing the temperature helps to decompose the ammonia. Meanwhile, it's also a reaction of the volume expansion, decreasing the pressure also helps decomposing.

 

 

Application:

 

Widely used in manufacturing the hydrogen and nitrogen at protective atmosphere. Especially for metal heating treatment ,powder metallurgy electronics and others heating.as a ammonia decomposition furnace, it can make hydrogen and nitrogen as protective atomosphere in non-ferrous metal, silicon steel, chrome steel and stainless steel and other metal materials and parts it can be used in bright annealing, in silicon steel it plays a role in decarburization ,in iron processing base powder metallurgy etc.
